Fantastic Four #36

This was a lucky find I made in Fantastic Four #36. I had just randomly picked a Fantastic Four comic and I just happened to pick the issue with the "fearless four". Well they capture and gas Invisible Girl.

I don't know what made sleeping gas such a cliched aspect of early comic books. Comics from the 60's used knockout gas very frequently. Comics today almost never use it, but when they do it tends to be a better drawn scene. One thing that pisses me off a lot is that most of the time it would male heroes who got gassed instead of the females. I'm sorry but there is nothing hot about seeing the Hulk getting gassed to sleep, that's just disgusting. Sue Storm was basically the only damsel who got rendered unconscious frequently. Who can forget that historic issue where Sue was chloroformed in the hospital by the Monster from the Lost Lagoon (FF #124)? That is classic stuff that you almost never see anymore. And if you have never seen the famous Invisible Girl chloroforming, here it is:

Yep, this site is definitely on Google right now and it has turned up in searches. I'm getting a lot of returning visitors so that means I am doing something right for once.

Independent Art

Finding comic scans with sleepy scenes is becoming harder and harder. However I think the realm of independent art holds great potential. I mean why wait for a comic book company to publish a scene which could take forever when you can just draw it yourself? I am not a very artistic person (although I wish I was)! There are many people out there who are amazing artists and can bring to life sleepy scenes that people like me can only dream of!
So I think I will share two of my finds. When looking for sleepy artwork, there is only one rule you need to know: follow the bondage. I am personally not very interested in bondage, but chloroform and bondage are very closely related. I mean, how else does someone tie up a girl? You can't tie her up when she's struggling it's too hard! You need to put her to sleep!
AVGDID is a good forum to start. Take a look at this recent piece of artwork by a man named Bill K: http://s6.invisionfree.com/AVGDID/index.php?showtopic=10695. If that link is down, click here to see the image I am talking about. It's scenes like these we should be looking for and I actually think chloroform is getting more and more popular these days.

Another interesting comic I found is from a Japanese website. Here is the link to the comic: http://www.geocities.co.jp/AnimeComic-Ink/6067/eka01.htm. It's a bondage comic, but it has sleepy elements in it (as indicated by the ether rag). As chloro scenes in comic books become increasingly rare, independent artists will be our only resource.

Oh that was fast, my blog is already on Google!

My Deepest Secret

The following is a scan from Excalibur v2 #005. The girl's name is Wicked I believe and she is injected with a sedative. Injections differ from knockout gas and chloroform in that it doesn't involve inhalants. It's a really painful way to put someone to sleep (well, a head KO would probably hurt even more). I hate needles!

Too bad we only get a sleepy shot of her arm.

The earliest record I have of my fascination is September 17, 2000. That is the date of the Spiderman chloroforming I found in the Sunday newspaper. That means I have been interested for nearly 6 years AT LEAST and I know it has to be longer than that. I started saving files to my hard disk on Janurary 8th 2005 after seeing how a lot of sleepy sites frequently shut down due to the webmasters' "personal reasons". Perhaps one day this site will shut down due to "personal reasons".
Indeed, how does someone keep over 2,200 files (3.3 GB) hidden from prying eyes? I simply store everything in a hidden folder buried deep within other folders. No one ever suspects a thing. I used to have password protected folders, but those were a pain because I was sick of typing a password to view my stuff. I used to clear my history everytime I visited a sleepy site, which was sometimes borderline adult content. Now I just lock my PC so that in order to access it you need to type a password. If my PC is inactive for 60 seconds, it locks. It's to protect my secret.
Man if someone else knew about it, it could ruin me. I can't risk anything, my identity must remain secret.

With the luxury of high speed internet, I can download comics and torrent files with great efficiency. It's almost like a full time job, finding these comic scans. I wish I could be paid doing this.

New Mangaverse

Glad to see that people are actually visiting this blog, it's incredible.
Okay time to mix things up a bit. Seeing girls chemically sedated is really cool, but in reality any knockout method will work. A good scene not only needs the KO but some sleepy shots to go along with it, otherwise the scene sucks. Take for example this exerpt from the New Mangaverse #1. I have no idea what is going on other than that the girl in the spider costume is Mary Jane. That's all you need to know. A ninja then KOs her:

Wonderful. She is currently unconscious:

We get a nice shot of her sleeping on some rubble. All of a sudden someone arrives to save her from being killed! It's the Black Cat!

Mary Jane is in sleepy land so what's the first thing the Black Cat has to do? Kiss her OF COURSE! I mean that is the only real way to wake up a sleeping girl.

And what do you know it worked! As you can see, the KO method was kind of lame but damn that scene was hot!
It used to be that all I cared about was chloroform or sleeping gas. Now I realized it's not WHAT put the damsel to sleep. It's the image of her sleeping that counts ultimately. Of course, the context can add a lot to the scene as well. It's much better if it's a picture of a woman who was drugged rather than just taking a nap. But we can always pretend.

Sue Storm vs. Puppet Master

Sue Storm (aka Invisible Girl) has been subjected to "sleeping gas" more times than I can count! She is the perfect damsel in distress, innocent and vulnerable. In honor of the great heroine Invisible Girl, I am presenting three versions of the same scene!
The first version is the original: Fantastic Four #8.

Sue is sneaking around the Puppet Master's lair while invisible. Alicia Masters however senses Invisible Girl's presence! The Puppet Master in response releases ether (aka sleeping gas) into the room.

Sue tries to stay awake, but the gas puts her to sleep.

The scene is redone in Marvel Action Hour #1.

The Puppet Master pumps in our favorite anesthetic subduing Invisible Girl.

Both scenes have their own merits. I actually have a hard time picking my favorite scene. I guess the first one is the best since it's the original.

This collection would not be complete without the animated version. If you have never seen this before download it off rapidshare. There are nice vocal protests as the gas puts Sue to sleep, plus IT'S ANIMATED!

You'd think after all the times Sue has been exposed to knockout gas she would be immune or something. But luckily for us, the gas prevails!

Avengers Celestial Quest #5

I noticed this blog is actually getting a few visitors and I have hardly promoted it! Indeed there are increasingly fewer genuine sleepy websites out there, so I try to make this one of the best.

This scan is from Avengers Celestial Quest #5. Once again, I am oblivious as to what is going on. Scarlet Witch and some other heroes are walking through a forest on some planet when suddenly gas appears (woohoo)! Some are affected, and some are not. Thank God Scarlet Witch was one of those affected! The gas renders her unconscious and we get some nice sleepy shots of her. I believe The Mighty Thor is knocked out too, but come on he can't even handle a little sleeping gas?

She eventually regains consciousness and there is some sleepy talk in this panel. You know sometimes I wish the gas would NOT wear off so fast!

And now for something completely different. We love chloroform. And we love it even more when Mary Jane gets chloroformed. Which is why I was so thrilled to see this in my Sunday newspaper:

Did Stan Lee draw two comics with the same plot or something? This scene is incredible because you have perfect cloth placement, two sleepy shots and good sleepy talk! I have no idea which issue of The Amazing Spider-Man this came from. All I know is that this scene is AMAZING!

Avengers #154: One of the Best

I'd like to show you one of my favorite comic scenes, from The Avengers v1 #154. I discovered it independently while researching the web. Now I really don't know what's going on here, since I hardly ever read the whole comic. I usually just skim the comic, look for that puff of gas and save the image.

So we have Scarlet Witch here and the enemy called Tyrak just released some sleeping gas into her face. It's a great scene because there are just so many sleepy shots of the very beautiful Scarlet Witch!

Now one gassing is good enough. But alas we are blessed with another...AND ANOTHER! The Wasp gets gassed in midair, and she falls. But Tyrak catches her and decides she needs another dose of gas!

There is a final sleepy shot of Scarlet Witch and if you look very carefully, you can see an unconscious Wasp in a jar.

Overall, a 5 star scene in my opinion. It just doesn't get any better than this folks.
I downloaded the comic off of a DC++ hub on Mar 20, 2006.
Now for one of my recent finds. This rather crappy drugged drink scene is from Defenders #147. Downloaded on June 20,2006.

You just see the victim drop the teacup and shake a little. Isn't it weird how drugged drink scenes almost always involve tea?
I posted a link to my site (pleaserelax.tripod.com) on a yahoo group called Beauties Sleeping. It's an alright site, but it has not been update with new clips in FOREVER! Plus Yahoo groups is extremely unreliable (okay, they are freaking retards). I'm trying to keep this site low profile for now at least because I am not sure how people will react to it. But if you want to tell your friends hey go ahead. And comment if you have clip requests or stuff like that.

First Post: A History

I can't explain it, but it's there. This fascination I have had since I can remember. I don't know exactly when it started. It most likely started with "sleeping gas". Yes, that had to be it. You see it all the time on cartoons; villains will release a puff of smoke in a female's face and in a second they are fast asleep. So common is this cliche that I have even seen it recently on TV. Oh no! Knockout Gas!One show I credit with this fascination is the cartoon "Inspector Gadget" produced by DiC. Who can forget that show? It practically defined my childhood! An episode titled "A Race to the Finish" had a scene where Penny (the protagonist, a little girl) was trapped in a warehouse that began to fill with "knockout gas"! The average child probably never gave a damn, but there was something about that scene which stuck. I didn't realize it, but that scene and many others greatly influenced me.
(Here is the Inspector Gadget scene on Rapidshare: http://rapidshare.de/files/23623160/inspectorgadget_racetothefinish.wmv.html)

Exposure to the internet had a huge impact on my fascination. Websites such as The Gasman's Sleeping Gas site, The Land of Nod, and The Ethernet (now defunct) were visited constantly by me. Those sites reassured me that I was not the only one with this fascination, that there were others just like me.
It became increasingly harder to find gas scenes. Whenever I did a search on Altavista or Google for "sleeping gas" or something related, nothing but porn came up. I am not interested at all in pornography, that defeats the purpose. Essentially my only resources were TV and comics.
Then one day while reading the Sunday comics in the newspaper, I came across a scene in Spiderman:
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
It was something different, but I liked it. It was called chloroform.
Chloroform is a very interesting substance. It was originally used as an anesthetic but not anymore because it is dangerous. It is still used in fantasy however. A lot of comics and TV shows used it.
It is a simple yet effective way to render someone unconscious. First, the chloroform (usually in the form of a volatile liquid) is applied onto a cloth. Then the cloth is placed over the victim's nose and mouth, forcing them to breathe the fumes. Almost instantly the victim is gracefully drugged into submission. It would take longer in real life, but I don't care about real life. All this exists completely in my imagination.
Now of course the victim is almost always a female. There are exceptions, but 99% of the time I am completely disgusted by a male victim. The image of a sleeping female is one of the most beautiful sights God endowed upon us. The last thing I want to see is an ugly putz getting the cloth; it just ain't happening!
So anyway, in my searching I discovered a site called the Chloroforum. I think it is currently the hotbed of activity in the sleepy subculture. People share their finds, which can be a video clip or picture. Most of the time however, people just download! I have an account on the Chloroforum and I go by the pseudonym "Prgram". How did I choose that name you ask? Well I saw it on a ballpoint pen I had sitting on my table. A logo on the pen meant to say "Program" but misspelled it "Prgram" and that's how I got my name. Just yesterday I uploaded from my personal collection a clip from Spiderman of the Black Cat getting gassed. It was a very popular clip! I also made an avatar that was taken from a screenshot of a Detective Conan episode. It has also sparked some interest. So as you can see, I have been pretty busy lately!

Using the Chloroforum I managed to amass a collection of over 2,000 clips and pictures related to my fascination. Recently I have been doing my own independent research in finding clips and have turned up quite fruitful. Just in terms of comic scans, I have found nearly 500 of them! I plan to share these finds as they turn up.
Gas and chloroformings are my favorite, but there are also scenes with good injections, head knockouts, and drugged drinks. With over 3.2GB of sleepy files on my hard disk, it is becoming increasingly difficult to hide my secret. Everyone who knows me in person, does not know about my fascination. Hopefully, the anonymity of the internet can hide my identity.

This blog is perhaps the most audacious step I have taken since I started saving files on my hard disk. I also think this is one of the first blogs that discusses nothing but the sleepy fetish (I really hate that word by the way). I have no idea where this blog will lead me. One thing's for sure though: this fascination is here to stay.
