Fantastic Four #36
This was a lucky find I made in Fantastic Four #36. I had just randomly picked a Fantastic Four comic and I just happened to pick the issue with the "fearless four". Well they capture and gas Invisible Girl.
I don't know what made sleeping gas such a cliched aspect of early comic books. Comics from the 60's used knockout gas very frequently. Comics today almost never use it, but when they do it tends to be a better drawn scene. One thing that pisses me off a lot is that most of the time it would male heroes who got gassed instead of the females. I'm sorry but there is nothing hot about seeing the Hulk getting gassed to sleep, that's just disgusting. Sue Storm was basically the only damsel who got rendered unconscious frequently. Who can forget that historic issue where Sue was chloroformed in the hospital by the Monster from the Lost Lagoon (FF #124)? That is classic stuff that you almost never see anymore.
